During the 5-6th of December the RUMTA C-Team went to the Hawk Invitational at Monmouth University.  There they competed against a field of 12 teams and finished at 1st place.  The win marks both the first time the C-Team has placed at a tournament as well as the first time the team has won a tournament.  The entire organization is pride of them.  The C-Team finished with a record an undefeated record of five wins, zero losses, and 3 ties.  The Team faced Monmouth, Fordham, and Quinnipiac.

On November 6-8, the B-Team competed at the 8th Annual Happy Valley Invitational at Penn State University. The tournament had 20 schools compete, including strong teams from Michigan State, George Washington, Georgetown, American, and Cornell. Despite this difficult competition, B-Team was able to secure a 5th place finish with a record of five wins, two losses, and one tie. Moving into the Spring, B-Team will continue to hone their trial skills as they prepare for the first Regional competition in February.

On November 7-8 RUMTA's A-Team competed at the 8th Annual Mumbo Jumbo Invitational at Tufts University. Trying cases against teams from Cornell, Fordham, and Boston Universities, the team won first place, finishing with a record of 7 wins and 1 tie. Among the seventeen other teams competing at the Invitational were teams from Harvard, Maryland, and Columbia Universities. Captain Esther Kang and senior Michael Guggenheim each also won Outstanding Attorney awards.

A-Team competed at CUBAIT on October 24-25th.  There they competed against a field of 22 top teams. Among these elite competitors were teams from Harvard, Yale, Cornell, NYU, and Columbia.  And against this stiff competition Rutgers finished 6th overall with a record of 5-3, taking home 3 awards, 1 top witness and 2 top attorneys.  The A-Team is proud of their success at CUBAIT but they plan on topping it at their next tournament.

On October 17-18th, the B and C Teams competed at the Market Street Invitational in the first tournament of our season. The tournament was very competitive with 22 teams in the field including teams from UMD, UPenn, and George Washington. The B-Team finished with a record of 5-3 which put them just shy of a top 6 ranking and brought home 4 awards, 2 top attorneys and 2 top witnesses.  The C-Team finished with a record of 2-6 but carried an impressive CS of 20.5.  Both teams performed well and are looking forward to their next Tournaments where they hope to capitalize on the experience they gained in Philadelphia.

On May 6, RUMTA was celebrated at the 2014 Scarlet Awards in Organizational Excellence. The purpose of the ceremony is to recognize student organizations and individuals who have displayed and immense amount or leadership and dedication to the university. This year, RUMTA received the "Outstanding Small Student Organization Award”. The award was both very competitive and one of the highest honors at the ceremony. The young organization is proud to receive the honor and be recognized among the student body as one of the most successful campus organizations. Congratulations to the entire team for their hard work and dedication!

Both Team A and Team B went to the Open Round Championships hosted by the University of Virginia on the weekend of March 22-23, 2014. Together, the teams won a record-breaking number of personal awards with three Top Attorney Awards and three Top Witness Awards. President and senior Gregory Cui ended his collegiate mock trial career on a high note by winning both a Top Attorney and a Top Witness Award. In total, he won twelve personal awards throughout his time at Rutgers. Chirag Desai, Brandon Ferrick, and Ashley Daniel also received awards for their performances.
